- Attended Malvern Collegiate Institute {M.C.I.} and graduated with a Senior Matriculation
- Attended 4 years at Michigan Technological University and graduated with a B.Sc in Chemistry
- Attended Western Kentucky University and graduated with an M.Sc in Coal Chemistry
- Attended Central Michigan University and graduated with a M.ED in Education
Awards and Activities:
- Played Football and Hockey for M.C.I. , winning the City of Toronto ,Hockey Championship in my last year
- Was Selected as a member of the All- Ontario Football Team , winning a " Canada Dry" award as an Outstanding Offensive Lineman
- Was selected on the Toronto Daily Star , All -Star Hockey Team as a defence man in my last year at M.C.I.
- Was honoured by M.C.I. athletic department as being one of six honour “M” in my last year of high school.
- Was awarded an Athletic Scholarship to Michigan Technological University where I played four years of Football and two years of Hockey in both Varsity Sports, winning Two Football Conference Championships in my 2nd and 4th years
- Was selected as a lineman on N.I.C. Conference All star for Three Consecutive Years!
- Was selected as All-Michigan honourable mention in my last year.
- Selected by my teammates with the coveted Fred Baird Award as our team’s outstanding defensive player of the year in my second year.
- After graduating from M.T.U. I went on to play football with the Sudbury sporting for six (6) more years; 4 of which were Championship Teams.
- In Yr 1993 , I was inducted in to the Northern Football Conference { N.F.C.} Hall of Fame as a player
- In Yr 2003 , I was inducted into the Michigan Technological University's Student - Athlete Hall of Fame
Work Experience and Activities:
- Worked as mathematics teacher at Bawating Collegiate in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for one year
- Worked as a teacher in mathematics, science and chemistry for 31 years.
- Worked for Guarantee Permanent Realty Ltd. for 31 years as a salesman, serving the North Shore of Lake Huron between Sudbury and Blind River, Ontario and including Manitoulin Island
Activities:
- Became an active member of the Canadian Chemical Society for 30 years during my teaching career
- Was an Alumni Director of the Michigan Technological University, promoting the J. Edgar McAllister Award given to Canadian students who wish to attend M.T.U.
Hobbies & Interests:
- Enjoy playing “old boys” hockey, watching college football games.
- Prospecting for minerals in the Espanola area
- Member of the Prospector’s Development Association (PDAC)
- Member of the Sudbury Real Estate Board for over 30 years.
- Member of the Canadian Chemical Institute (C.C.I.) for 30 years and still maintain my interests in Nanochemical Science.
